Improving the process of selling tickets for your shows online

webticketing

Thursday 5 February 2009

I currently head-up a website that assists smaller organisations and community groups sell tickets online for their events. We are looking to improve our site to better assist the local theatre community, and rather than dictate what we think you want, we would rather know directly from you. I really don't want this blog to be some sort of online advertorial or become some self-serving market research survey. Rather, we want to discuss what you feel about the current state of play in this area and what you wish was out there. Yes, at the end of the day our website is going to benefit from the discussion but we genuinely hope and believe that the community will benefit from having a better solution to the issue of selling tickets for their events (assuming that there is a problem at all). So as a trigger point for further discussion can I start off with a few questions: If you sell tickets for your events online what do you like and dislike about it? If you don't sell tickets online why not? What do you like and dislike about buying tickets for your local shows? Thanks for your time and insight. Mark Rodrigues
