Steps to Take -

UntamedEyes

Saturday 4 October 2008

Hey everyone! My name is Tahnee and i recently joined this website to gain a more broader understanding of theatrical and film acting. After reading and re-reading the F.A.Q page and numerous other forum discussions (which i found incredibly helpful and beneficial in my research) i'd like to seek advice and confirmation from others in whether i am heading in the right direction with the steps i am taking to secure a future place in the industry. As it mentions on my profile, i am North of the river in Joondalup, Western Australia. 19 years of age, female. I've always been told by others that im great at absorbing into characters, other personalities - and until i get told by a hundred professionals that im not good enough for the business - i will continue to strive on and grow in my skills and experience for the role of acting. The first initial step i have taken is enrolling myself into Frog Management Acting Agency into their acting classes. I have also taken time into researching and studying the art of Body Language ( gestures speaking louder than words - affect/influence on others )as well as general communicational knowledge (which in majoring in Advertising at Edith Cowan Univeristy - is essential in understanding - i.e. creating a 'brand personality' to sell to consumer/audience they can relate to). Next step is currently looking into auditioning for local community theatres for that kickstart in experience. Or should i just leave that and see what Frog Management says/does with me? No doubt alot of enquiries are invested into this website by amatauer's seeking acting work, expecting unrealistic expectations, but what im seeking is just the baby steps of experience first and foremost. And i apologise if i've given anyone a headache with all this, haha. I hope i am in the right set of mind here with what im doing... If anyone has any suggestions or any extra advice i could follow that would be greatly appreciative. Thanks to everyone, and again, what an awesome website in inspiring and motivating people. Tahnee =) p.s. sorry for the rambling haha
