REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN FOR CANBERRA FESTIVAL OF ONE ACT PLAYS 2008 Friday 10 October – Sunday 12 October 2009 Theatre 3 Ellery Crescent Acton ACT 2601 Registrations are now open for the Canberra Festival of One Act Plays 2008. Note the new dates – the weekend after the October long weekend. We are pleased to announce that the new Festival venue is Theatre 3 in Acton. This 200 seat theatre is an ideal, intimate venue for a Festival of One Act Plays. The aims of the Festival are: • To recognise excellence in Australian amateur theatre • To encourage more people to become involved in the performing arts. The Festival achieves this by: • Giving experienced companies the opportunity to hone their skills • Allowing new Australian writers, new directors, inexperienced performers and production teams to learn new skills from more experienced companies and apply these skills. • Giving companies the opportunity to receive constructive criticism of their work from an adjudicator who is an experienced professional in the performing arts • Giving established theatre groups the opportunity to market what they do and encourage others to become members of an amateur theatre group • Recognising excellence in youth/school productions For expressions of interest, registration form and further information visit the Festival website today: www.canberraplayfest.com.au REGISTRATIONS CLOSE: COB Friday 25 July 2008 Register now – performing spots are limited.
