Hey there, I'm Amie, 20 year old university student studying to be a highschool Drama and English teacher.Am I looking for work and experience?yes.Do i expect such things to simply land in my lap?NO-so please if you wish to lecture me upon the mindless expectations or 'silver platter syndrome' of young people....spare me. I've recently moved from country S.A to Adelaide. Now with S.A, being the 'festival state', I was more than excited about the possibility of being sorrounded by multitudes of Theatre performances-comedy-musicals-basically anything dramatical, yet Adelaide has failed to provide. Of course the festival theatre is an amazing place, and yes the fringe festival does entice- but wouldn't it be nice to have just a little more?call me greedy-but couldn't we replace just a few of the many food festivals with those involving performance?Nearly every week I stroll down King William and smell the scent of a different cuisine. Is there not an obesity epedemic/problem?If I want asian cuisine-I'll take myself to an Asian restaraunt, same with Italian etc etc.Why sit on a lawn, with seagulls attacking your food when u can sit in a shop-or at home-and eat the same thing?I tell you what- u can go buy Italian cuisine and bring it back to a performance festival! Yes I know I am rambling, so I'll just let it go :) On another note, if there are any Drama teachers that could offer me any advice, I will be very greatful.More importantly-I'm just wondering how you are finding the job-does it live up to your expectations, highs and lows etc etc. Thanks to all who took the time to read my blog Take care and goodluck with life Amie
