Quality Show
Monday 26 November 2007
Well, we are three shows into a 12 show season. One week down and two to go and it is going wonderfully. Apart from a few minor technical things that crop up on opening night, the show (as far as I can tell) is going extremely well, and that's not to blow my own trumpet because the show has exceeded my expectations.
For that, I can only thank my dedicated cast. This collection of talented men and women have made me look really good ;-) . I have believed that a director can only ever be as good as his cast. Now I learn that a Cast can Exceed their director.
Period Plays are not for everyone, that much is certain. However, if you are a lover of J M Barrie, or stories such as Pride and Prejudice, then you might find some enjoyment with Quality Street. There are still tickets left except for this coming Friday and Sat (30th Nove and 1st Dec) which are sell outs. The Wed and Thurs of the last week (5, 6 Dec) still have seats available.
Personally, if certain members of the cast don't win awards for their performances, I'll be stunned. They really are, in an as unbiased view as I can muster, very very good.
