NAVIGATING - Let's Sail This Ship Home
Tuesday 16 October 2007
Time flies when you're in production, so I feel I have been neglecting everything else including this blog. Sorry.
The season has proceeded relatively incident-free and audiences have been most responsive. I thank all those who have already been, particularly those who have sent emails of support and I take the liberty of quoting from a couple of them:
This one is from a fellow director from a different company!!!!!:
"Just had to congratulate you on Navigating. I totally enjoyed the play, it was intriguing and confronting and the actors had the audience involved and attentive all the way to the end. I really loved the climax- the scene with the gun - so difficult to make believable but you did an excellent job of building up the tension. And the way "Bea" delivered her last line gave us an understanding of what she was going to do. You were very fortunate to find Valerie Riches to play Bea- she was outstanding.
I wish more people would go and see live theatre performances such as Navigating instead of sitting home watching t.v.! I haven't been able to stop thinking about some of the different scenes and their importance to the plot. It was a very well written script, very well delivered, a great choice for Melville theatre.
Thanks again for a great night's entertainment."
This one is from a fellow reviewer*****:
"It broke my heart saying that I thought you had done a good job - Ha, Ha!! Seriously it was an excellent play and well thought out. My wife and myself genuinely thought it the best play at Melville for a while.
Val...did so well to learn the huge chink of script. ...her final scene with the gun was really disturbing and convincing."
Don't forget to call 9330 4565 and book for one of our last three nights this Thu, Fri and Sat 18, 19, 20/10/07
Chookas all!
