A bit lost of what i should do after uni... (or even during!!)

Hey all, My name is Sally and I am a first year performing arts student in VU. In recent months I have been wondering about what my life is going to lead and what are my options as a performer. Yeah i know its too early.. but i don't know what to do. I was planing to get an agent... but in recent threads i have been reading about agents and how people are not happy about their agents or the agents being dodgy... my family does not support me in doing performing arts (because mostly they are conservative and true to their own culture) so i got to support myself. I also want to do my own work like scrip writing but i don't how do I go around of sending and/ or direct my own plays. I would like to hear about your post uni experiences or what you did to gain experience in the performing arts or even how people support or not support you in your process. thanks for reading this.
