ACTORS NEEDED

Karen Jenkins

Friday 18 November 2011

A few important roles we need to audition for. Derrek: A man appearing in his mid twenties - early thirties. Must have an enigmatic voice as much of the narrative is carried by his voiceover. Open to men of every appearance and body type, but be aware that the role requires a fair standard of athleticism as there is a martial arts fight scene. Previous experience in martial arts is a plus, but we have a very qualified fight coordinator / martial arts instructor in board so it's not mandatory. Must have at least an automatic drivers license. Derrek's family: A man, woman (late 20s - early 40s) and child (between the ages of four and eight) to play Derrek's family for a flashback to the protagonist's early life. A family is preferred to avoid legal snags relating to minors on set. Man will be required to drive a 1950s car, so a manual drivers license is a very likely requirement. Access to a vintage car is a huge plus as well. Tex: Aging Vietnam Vet and long time friend of the protagonist. Late 40s-60s. Preferably with unkempt appearance, perhaps long straggly hair and beard? Has some of the film's most important dialogue so a fluent and accomplished actor is necessary. Ruth: Red headed female between 18 - 24 who is comfortable with a (non nude) sex scene. Will appear in underwear. Captain: Male 30-50 to play stereotypical military captain / lieutenant on a Vietnamese battlefield, possibly with an American accent. Clarissa: Female between 25-30 to play protagonist's wife. Only a brief scene but getting the right person for the role is very important. Two males to play villains in a fight scene: One must have at least an automatic drivers license and some martial arts experience preferred but again not mandatory. No dialogue, just require the right look and physical ability. Shaman: Dark skinned male of no specific ethnic origin. Will be dressed in a loincloth, headdress and be carrying a totem pole. Again, no specific culture or origin is implied and the character will be handled with all due sensitivity. Additionally we will need a lot of extras. At least twenty needed for a bar scene, ten for the Vietnam war scene, At least five, preferably more to play faceless men in suits and five to play roommates in a commune house. Some extras do have dialogue, these roles will go the best and most confident speakers. Auditions will be held at the GTM offices! Sunday 4th December 2012. Applicants are to send any / all of CV, Headshot and showreel to ChristopherGoodeFilm@gmail.com for a copy of the script.
