So much for the big Sea-change
Wednesday 7 September 2011
Hardly twelve months after relinquishing my position as President of Phoenix Theatre and moving to Broome to enjoy semi-retirement, I find myself not only back in full-time employment in the high-pressure world of native title law, but last Monday evening I was elected President of 'Theatre Kimberley' - the largest community theatre group I have ever been involved with - not only in terms of territory, but also members, budget and performance program!
One of my missions in this position will be to entice, encourage and enable capital-city-based theatre groups who are willing to bring their shows to the magnificent Kimberley, cultural melting-pot of the West. In that connection, I am looking forward to again working with old mates from Perth and beyond.
I just hope I don't get too busy to enjoy "strummin' my six-string on my front-porch swing".(Jimmy Buffett)
