Director of Quality - Gearing up

Labrug

Tuesday 31 July 2007

Well, here we go. Next weekend is official auditions for Quality Street and things are starting to look a bit better than last week. Still, with a cast of 19 characters (more if you want to add extras - What am I saying?!?!) it was always going to be hard to fill.

With a couple of interested gentlemen, a few children and large but lacking selection of ladies, I anticipate having to make a few hasty phone calls around the place. I have my moments where I think, pre-casting has its advantages which I quickly squash down. I made a promise to myself that I would not engage in pre-casting at all, at least not beyond the confines of my imagination. None-the-less, I can see the temptation.

With under a week to go, I have been getting at least one phone call or email a night. I hope for a bit more in the final days. It would be great to be able to fill over half the cast from the auditions alone, yet I remain a realist and will let time and 'fate' play its part.

Unlike Quake I plan not to post regular Blogs onto the ITA Web Site about my experiences with the show. I will however post onto my Yahoo! 360 site instead.
