Winter afternoons are most suited for 'chatty' luncheons and sunbathing with clothes on. Words have cultural as well as geographical connotations. For instance, sun-bathing conjures a different image in the minds of P.B. guys and girls (Pacific Beach), as opposed to a Delhite who wears layers of woollens and may be a cap and chats up a neighbour over chai while soaking the warmth of a bright sun. The warmth around and curries with Indian breads had brought about a degree of languour in our minds and we were pleased with weather, congratulating eachother on not being in the freezing Northern hemisphere. Delicately, delectable halwa (Indian dessert), rich with raisins and saffron that had given it a chirpy, warm golden hue, melted in our souls, and we thought aloud what we would have missed were we born elsewhere. An artist and journalist were discussing 'inner circle' when I joined them; the close circle of influence and the infleuntial is almost always raked by somebody for it has sure takers. Who doesn't want to gate crash into this guarded fort of successful arty people? It was then that I thought if one could link the outsiders and form an outer circle which would outnumber the inner with their ideas and pehaps become just as influential. So folks, all those who think they are on the fringes, or the reasonable big daddies join a community of writers/theatre/musicians etc on Inkedin. And if you reach there because of this blog entry please let me know so that I can hijack your blogs. A word of caution for those who like to hold to their snobbery, original work or are faint in their hearts, the place could get tricky for you. Just in case you are whacky, crazy in your head, love intelligent banter then you are being missed on the site.
