A Night Of Deceit - Who Are We?

In my new entry I plan to highlight the women of the theatrical work "A Night Of Deceit" which opens on December 15th at the Studio Space at Subiaco Arts Centre.

Shiloh Blondel: Actor / Writer / Composer

Shiloh Blondel comes to "A Night Of Deceit" with a Diploma in Screen Acting from the Film & Television Institute of Western Australia where she studied extensively the methods of Lee Strasberg, Irene Adler and Harold Guskin. Shiloh is a Drama Studies TEE graduate of the prestigious Methodist Ladies College where she garnered respect as a performer.

This will be Shiloh's first performance with an independent theatre company and not only has she assumed a role in acting but Shiloh's also responsible for treatments on the one-act play Conscience and heavily contributed to the composition of the final musical number The Card Game with Asha Cluer. As a versatile performer, Shiloh has developed her voice under the tuition of Lorraine Kirwan and works as a singer/waitress with Captain Cook Cruises.

Shiloh is currently in rehearsal for the self-devised play TEARS with the West Australian Youth Theatre Co. of which she will assume the lead role to open on the 1st December 2010. Shiloh also plays Leonora Maison in the new web-based TV series FEED currently "in production". As an avid artist, Shiloh also immerses herself in the writing of original music, she is adept in piano and guitar and is a strong vocalist and also has an immense hold on sketching and canvas painting.

Jo Causer: Actor:

Jo Causer has a history with Shine Studios: Creative & Performing Arts and was last seen in their 2009 production of Little Shop Of Horrors as the urchin, Ronette. Jo assumes the role of Janice from the play Erectile Dysfunction in "A Night Of Deceit", a woman dealing with some rather personal issues that is subjected to a flamboyant sex therapist in upper-class London.

Jo Causer is currently the resident jazz & blues singer for Azure Entertainment's Lady Velvet Cabaret, a traveling performance company that works in corporate entertainment and independent theatre. Jo works extensively as a contractual singer under the moniker "Songbird".

Ruby Hall: Actor

Ruby Hall is a recent graduate from Churchlands Senior High School and is the youngest cast member of the show. Ruby has a varied performance background, appearing in the prime-time children's television series "The Sleepover Club" in 2005 - 2006 assuming the role of a support character, Caitlin at the time. Ruby has done various of work including TVC's and more recently the musicals, We Will Rock You, Grease & Fiddler On The Roof.

Ruby assumes the role of Victoria Keating in the visual one-act play Conscience a misguided girl living as a prostitute in East End London during the 1940's who is mistreated and murdered. The piece is a grungy contemporary theatrical work that consists of a series of monologues speaking to her stage presence and ability to hold an audience's attention. Ruby moves into 2011 with aspirations for further performance in independent theatre and continued work as a vocalist.

These three young women with Asha Cluer culminate in our female cast, and work together to showcase, strong-minded, powerful women who can be just as tricky, sly and deceitful as their male counterparts.
