A Night Of Deceit - Who Are We?
This blog is being written to highlight the talented production team behind "A Night Of Deceit" the new theatrical work from "Ellandar Productions". As was mentioned in my previous blog entry I am attempting to highlight the creatives working on this show to publicise their GREAT work and to remind people about the show we are putting up.
The show itself is being produced by myself and business partner, Elliott Cook, who as writers have already had the "Who Are We?" treatment in the last blog entry.
Direction by Fern Nicholson:
Fern Nicholson is a phenomenal talent in Western Australia that has come on board the "A Night Of Deceit" show as a mentor and a support in direction. Fern is taking individuals and working on their performances one-on-one to cement contextual understanding of the scripts in the performer and draw out the dynamic performances that will make this show shine with some of W.A's best young talent.
Fern is originally from London, United Kingdom where she trained and graduated from the prestigous Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA). Since then Fern has pursued a career in life-coaching and film & television, having had her work showcased around the world, most notably the New York Film Festival. Since coming to Western Australia, Fern has taken many roles over the years, and currently resides as the principal lecturer for the Dip. Screen Acting at the Film & Television Institute of W.A (FTI).
Fern who has a background in stage as a musical theatre performer on the West End, is making her LONG-awaited return to theatre with "A Night Of Deceit". Despite all her credits, Fern is a humble woman that is one of the great gems of our local film industry.
Musical Direction by Asha Cluer:
Our Musical Director is also an unknown in the local independent theatre circuit. Asha Cluer is a graduate of John Curtin School for Performing Arts where she studied the Drama Studies and Jazz Piano TEE syllabus courses. Currently a student at the University of Western Australia, Asha's performance credits are chiefly with Azure Entertainment, where she has acted as an emcee for their performances, a vocalist and an actor.
Asha has a great passion for the theatre and as well as instructing the voices in the show, with Shiloh Blondel has composed the final musical number which is a complete original work. Asha like all members of the immensely talented cast and crew juggles her responsibilities as a performer, writer and tertiary student. This show is an exemplary example of her amazing work and talent!
Choreography by Para Isidro
The chief choreographer on the show is Miss. Para Isidro, a Filipino dancer that assumed the Dance Captain position of the international broadway musical sensation "Miss. Saigon". Para is an accomplished dancer of more than 30 years and this November travels to New York City to showcase her work in a one-woman musical theatre, dance and movement show.
Her work is enriched with feeling and emotion, she is an emotive mover and choreographer that has provided "A Night Of Deceit" with moody jazz standards that have her flavour and colouring all over. Para is the owner of Paradance and Director of Tri-US Entertainment. Her training comes extenxively from New York and Los Angeles and she shares her knowledge with screen actors as the lecturer for "Managing Movement" at the Film & Television Institute of W.A (FTI).
She has written, staged and produced her own international musical "Have I Told You Today That I Love You" which premiered in the Phillipines in 2003. In Western Australia Para often performs through Juan Rando Dance Academy where she also teaches, as well as Dance Workshop and numerous other academies.
These three along with direction from Iskandar R. Sharazuddin round out the creative team, dedicated to working to bring original material to W.A stages. It is important to note that there is additional choreography from Renae O'Neil of MESH: W.A Youth Musical Theatre Co., additional musical direction from Shiloh Blondel and additional direction and mentoring from Angela Padley!
