Could this be the last word on JCS?

I have been following the comments and reviews of Peter Clarks's JCS production with some interest. My my we are a bitchy lot. To take on a production of this magnitude qualifies the man for a big pat on the back. The time and effort the whole ensemble must have put in to deliver the goods is worthy of all our praise. As an old new kid on the theatre block, I'm dismayed that our theatre community often focuses on the negatives, rather than the positives. Would we be as critical if it were an overseas or Eastern states production? A local production is a huge success, me thinks that paves the way for the rest of us. How hard is it to get the local populace along to the host of quality theatre we have in this town? I tried to get a ticket for the show but it was sold out! Brilliant! Maybe there's a future where local original productions can have similar success. As for the claims of making money, get real! Bleeding for your art went that away. In closing, congratulations to EVERYONE involved with this production. You should be damn proud of yourselves. Sorry I missed it. John Grim A lad in sane productions
