Pricking the Target (with an InvertÂ’s Arrow) is a confronting four part dramatic work.

Part 1 - “The All New Great American Nude #1” dramatises the futile attempt by a rich eccentric to create and seduce the perfect male form.

1. The All New Great American Nude - Male (20-30) in good physical condition [role requires full frontal nudity]
2. Artist - Male (20-35)
3. Assistant - Male (20 -25)
4. Monsieur Krank - Male(25-35) [role requires kissing another male]

Part 2 - “Capote’s Hat” dramatises one man’s borrowing of another man’s sexual identity.

Characters
1. Ted - Male (20-25) [role requires rear nudity]
2. Dwight - Male (25-30)
3. Truman - Male (20-25)
4. Woman - Female (25-35)
5. Editor/Publisher - Male (30 - 40)
6. Young Man - Male (20 -25)

Part 3 - “On ‘That’ Street” dramatises the brutal rape of a male prostitute by his client.

1. Prostitute - Male (20-25) [role requires partial nudity]
2. Client - Male (30 - 45) [role requires partial nudity]

Part 4 - “The Fading Memory of an Underground Lover” dramatises loss beyond the corporal when a lover dies of AIDS.

1. Felix - Male (20-30)
2. New Lover - Male (20-30)

Pear Shaped Theatre Incorporated is seeking only the most dedicated of actors for this production.

Pricking the Target is a highly visual dramatic work in which dialogue has only moderate usage and thematic content is suitable only for mature audiences.

All actors expressing interest in playing the following roles - The All New Great American Nude, Ted, Prostitute, Client - are required to be naked for a portion of the audition.


Auditons will be held on Saturday the 9th of March and Sunday the 10th of March at the Blue Room Theatre, Northbridge. Performances will be in mid-May.
