Blak Yak Theatre are proud to announce auditions for their first play of 2002: Dead Poets Society. The production will be staged late Jan / early Feb next year, and auditions will be held on the evening of Tuesday October 30.

Cast: 3 Teachers, 6 schoolboys, 2 schoolgirls

Teachers

Mr Nolan: The Principal of the school. A traditionalist, very old school (gets to beat people with a stick).

Mr Keating: The teacher who truly loves to teach. Inspirational (gets a standing ovation).

Mr Perry: NeilÂ’s father, has big plans for his son and is not at all interested in any plans Neil may have for himself. Well meaning all the same (gets to outlive his son).

Students

Neil Perry: The actor who would rather die than not act. Very impassioned (gets to kill himself!).

Todd Anderson: The quiet one, closet poet who has spent his life in the shadow of his older brother (gets to lose his best friend).

Knox: The romantic, willing to risk life and limb for the girl of his dreams (gets the girl).

Charlie: The wild one (gets phone calls from God).

Cameron: The "bad guy", only ever really along for the ride, last to join in, first to pike (gets what he deserves).

Steven Meeks: The geek (gets better as it goes along)

Chris: The girl of Knox's dreams (gets 2 guys).
