Auditions for Mojo by Jez Butterworth are being held Thursday 23rd Feb and Monday 27th Feb at 8pm
Mojo is a play about a group of Gangsters in London 1958 who are in midst of a turf war over a new talented singer Silver Johnny.Think "Lock Stock and Two Smoking barrels."
The action takes place in a nightclub in Soho,and involves,guns,blood,hanging bodies and a gritty script that delivers.
There are six male parts available.(no precasting)
Baby:Son of the gang leader 20-30
Skinny:Dogs Body 20's
Potts;20-30 Best Buddy of Sweets
Sweets:20-30 Best Buddy of Potts
Silver Johnny:Singer 20's(Must be prepared to be suspended above the stage!)
Mickey:Boss's Right Hand man 25-35
London accents required(if you cannot do a london accent practice!!!)
Auditions will consist of cold reads and some improv.
This is a co-op production from Peninsula Theatre Company to be directed by Henry Jennings and staged at the 300 seat Theatre in Manly,The Star of the Sea.
Auditions this thursday 23rd and Monday 27th at 8pm at Narrabeen Community Centre 2-10 Woorarra Avenue,North Narrabeen.
Rehearsals are generally twice a week on Monday and Thursday night with some Sunday Afternoon rehearsals planned depending on progress.
Show will open at the Star of the Sea Theatre May 17th and run for 8 shows(May be longer depending on audiences)
