God, the Devil and the True History of Mankind by Travis Cotton
& Shakespearialism by Joshua Lawson
God has sex appeal and isn’t ashamed to use it. Shakespeare has a lesser-known, cynical brother determined to upstage his sibling. Santa dies a tragic death and in desperate need for a drink, offers to go to hell – where Jesus, complete with a substance abuse problem, spends most of his time.
Winners of the 2005 Write Now national young playwrights competition,
1 x Female Actor (26 - 35)
2 x Male Actors (20 - 29)
You will also be reading two scenes from one of the plays in pairs. You can either audition with someone, or be placed in Male/female combinations. These scenes can be emailed in advance.

Time: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Last year Capgun presented the WA premiere of Stephen Belber's TAPE at the Rechabites Hall as part of the Blue Room Theatre Room to Move Season.

Travis Cotton’s God, the Devil and the True History of Mankind follows the downtrodden God – fresh from a break-up with her drug-addled ex Jesus and on the receiving end of advice from a recently-dead Santa whose principal concern is finding purgatory’s best bar. While in Joshua Lawson’s Shakespearialism, William’s oft-overlooked Naturalist playwright brother Ralph takes centre stage.
