The Importance of Being Earnest

Marloo Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for Mr WildeÂ’s famous play to be directed by Douglas Sutherland-Bruce, assisted by Gail Palmer.

The production will run from the 7th to the 31st July (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays) at Marloo Theatre.

Auditions for the following roles will be held at 1pm on Saturday the 21st February:

John Worthing Aged 29 Man about (Edwardian) town
Algernon Moncrieff Aged 27 Ditto
Rev Canon Chasuble, D.D. Aged 50-60 Country divine
Merriman Aged 102 Butler
Milly Aged 17 Housemaid
Tilly Aged 17 Housemaid
Lane Aged 40 or so Manservant
Lady Bracknell Aged 50-55 Harridan
Hon Gwendolen Fairfax Aged 21 Debutante
Cecily Cardew Aged 18 Country mouse
Miss Prism Aged 45-55 Governess

All principals will be required to speak with an upper class English accent.
Servants may be required use a regional British accent.
