This is a stylised version of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic. Dr. Henry Jekyll is a brilliant scientist frustrated by dull "respectable" life in 1888 Victorian London. He creates a formula to unleash his inner bestial nature, transforming him into the brutish Edward Hyde. Characters: Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde (male 40+) - A respected doctor with a dark side. The actor playing this role must be able to portray and transition between two very distinct characters. Maid (female 20+) - This is a major role – both the maid and the butler portray multiple characters as they narrate the tale of their employer. Butler (male 20+) - This is a major role – both the butler and the maid portray multiple characters as they narrate the tale of their employer. Hastie Lanyon (male 35+) - A reputable London doctor Gabriel Utterson (male 35+) - A prominent and upstanding lawyer Richard Enfield (male 25+) - A gentleman and a bit of a dandy Helen O'Neill (female 20+) - Enfield's fiancée – an intelligent young woman Cybel (female 30+) - A mature prostitute Age ranges are stage ages.
