Kulin By Night and Kulin Open Doors

Call for Auditions - Actors Kulin By Night and Kulin Open Doors 3rd & 4th October 2013 Scooplight Theatre is calling auditions for experienced male and female actors of all ages who are interested in auditioning for this new event to be held in the Wheatbelt town of Kulin this October. The two complementary productions: Kulin Open Doors to be held during the day, and the evening performance Kulin By Night - are both roving outdoor performances that will be held along the main street of Kulin and in selected buildings. Kulin By Night will also include a specially arranged dinner for the audience in the old Dining Room of the historic Kulin Hotel. The productions have been commissioned by the Shire of Kulin, with additional funding from Country Arts WA, to coincide with the 2013 Kulin Bush Races to provide engagement and activity for the many 1000s of visitors that descend upon Kulin for this major annual event, and as way to promote the history and stories of their town and its people. The performances are scheduled to take place on the following dates: Kulin By Night: Thursday 3rd October 6.30pm* Kulin Open Doors: Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th October, between 11.00am to 3.00pm All actors will need to be available to stay in Kulin from Wednesday 2nd to Saturday 5th October. Payment for each actor will be a $700 total fee for the production. All other costs including accommodation, return travel to Kulin and food are covered under the production budget. Rehearsals will be twice weekly and are scheduled to commence from late August and continue up until the tour departure. Both productions will involve 1-2 short monologues and/or other dialogues peppered within a guided tour of the main street.
