Actors wanted for new Scooplight Theatre show

Scooplight Theatre is calling auditions for experienced actors of all ages who are interested in auditioning for this new event to be held in the Wheatbelt town of Kulin this October. The two complementary productions: Kulin Open Doors to be held during the day, and the evening performance Kulin By Night are both roving outdoor performances that will be held along the mainstreet of Kulin and in selected buildings. Kulin By Night will also include a specially arranged dinner for the audience in the old Dining Room of the historic Kulin Hotel. The productions have been commissioned by the Shire of Kulin, with funding from Country Arts WA, to coincide with the 2013 Kulin Bush Races to provide engagement and activity for the many 1000’s of visitors that descend upon Kulin for this major annual event, and as way to promote the history and stories of their town. The performances are scheduled to take place on the following dates: Kulin By Night – Thursday night 3rd October * Kulin Open Doors -Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th October, 11.00am – 3.00pm All actors will need to be available to stay in Kulin from Wednesday 2nd – Saturday 5th October. Payment for each actor will be a $700 total fee for the production. All other costs including accommodation, return travel to Kulin and food are covered under the production budget, including for Saturday night for those actors who would like to stay on for the Kulin Bush Races event. Rehearsals will be twice weekly and are scheduled to commence from late August and continue up until the tour departure. Although there is only a short time-frame for rehearsals, both productions will only involve 1-2 short monologues or dialogues. A tour guide will also be included to support the performance.
