Character Descriptions Please Note: Ages indicated are the age of the character not the actor. Baron Victor Von Frankenstein (Male 25-45) He is of clean cut appearance and speaks forcefully. An extrovert and emotional day-dreamer. Ygor Feldman (Male 18-70) He's a hunchback, ugly, speaks and shambles like Charles Laughton's Quasimodo. He's scruffy in appearance and extrovert and eccentric in manner. Count Vlad Dracula (Male aged 35-65) He speaks with a Romanian accent and his appearance is suave yet sinister. His manner varies between dejected and ferocity but at all times he should appear formidable. Harry Talbot (Male aged 18-35) He's a good looking if somewhat dejected American. He's obviously a loner but is capable of arousing sympathy. He turns into the wolf-man during the show. Countess Ilona Bathory (Female aged 35-65) She's attractive and stylishly dressed. Her manner is usually restrained but there are moments when her true passions are revealed. She speaks with a mid-European accent. Frau Lurker (Female aged 40-70) She has a dour and menacing manner. She speaks tersely with a harsh German accent and marches rather than walks. She wears unrelieved black. Baroness Elisabeth Von Frankenstein (Female aged 25-35) Very attractive but diffident, bored and outspoken. Castle Frankenstein is not her ideal home. The Phantom of the Opera (Male 25-65) It's difficult to see his real age since his face is almost entirely concealed by a mask. He's French and his mood varies from one of menace to that of a dispirited romantic. Isabel Channing (Female aged 18-30) She's an American who is attractive but her manner abrasive. Like most other characters she is a total extrovert. The Monster (Male aged 18-70) He resembles the "Creature" as played by Boris Karloff. He is of indeterminate age and appears to be the most stupid and pathetic being imaginable. The Invisible “Naked” Man (Male aged +18) Voiceover This character is not seen on stage only a voice off stage. Could be doubled up with one of the male roles. Actor will need to speak sensually. Synopsis of “The House of Frankenstein” Baron Victor von Frankenstein, bored with his attempts to give life to the lifeless, has turned his attention to curing the supposedly incurable! In a grim castle in the Carpathian Mountains, he and his long-suffering wife Elisabeth, the unsavoury hunchback Ygor, the Valkyrian Frau Lurker and the Monster (who doubles as drinks-trolley and standard lamp) play host to various mysterious and menacing denizens of the night (invited or otherwise) who visit the Baron to beg him to rid them of their vices. But this challenge, although a welcome diversion for the headstrong young scientist, proves to be no picnic...more of a living nightmare! A highly entertaining wise-cracking comedy-horror!
