BOOK YOUR AUDITION TODAY by visiting http://www.kidzact.com.au/seussical SYNOPSIS: The story centres around Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double challenge--not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, the only one who recognises "his kind and his powerful heart." Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry. ABOUT KIDZ ACT Kidz Act is a children's semi-professional theatre company providing young people the opportunity to learn and experience live theatre! Taking part in this program gives all members the opportunity to train in their craft as well as performing in a large-scale production. All auditionees are sent audition material to present at their audition. HURRY - PLACES GO QUICK! THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT: * AUDITIONS: Auditions are open to ages 5 - 18 at time of performance and are held between 9th - 12th April 2013. * CALLBACKS: If callbacks are required (a second audition), these will take place on 13th & 14th April 2013. * PERFORMANCES: Performances will take place 23rd August - 1st September 2013 at CLAYTON THEATRETTE. * REHEARSALS: Rehearsals take place once a week at our DONCASTER STUDIO and run for 4 hours. Rehearsals will take place on one of three slots (parents choose which one): Wednesday's 4:30-8:30; OR Saturday's 2:00-6:00; OR Sunday's 9:30-1:30 * ACCEPTANCE: Acceptance into the production and program is through an audition/application and a LETTER OF OFFER from the Director. * ENSEMBLE ONLY ROLES: Auditions are NOT required for children who wish to take on an ENSEMBLE only role (non-speaking) role. An application form is required to be completed. * FEES: The Broadway Theatre Program fees are $440.00 per child. This works out to $27.50 per week over 16 weeks. Fees include all rehearsal and performance materials, including costumes, scripts, drama lessons, makeup and more!
