The Pirates of Penzance tells the story of Frederic who, having reached his 21st year, has concluded his long apprenticeship to a band of 'tender-hearted' pirates. Now a free man, he leaves for greener pastures and instantly falls in love with Mabel, one of the daughters of a British Army Major-General. All is well until a sudden twist of fate sees Frederic having to choose between love and his 'sense of duty' to his former pirate colleagues. Full of larger-than-life characters (The Pirate King and his loyal pirate band, the Major-General and his beautiful daughters, the elderly, erring nursemaid Ruth, and the timid, bumbling policemen), Pirates will take you on a hilarious journey with wonderful music and action aplenty. Well loved numbers such as 'Poor wandering one', 'With cat like tread', 'I am the Pirate King' and 'I am the very model of a modern Major-General' will have you humming all the way home.
