Auditions Richard III by William Shakespeare Directed by Gary Dooley Season: 9th March - 20th Apr 2013 Auditions will be held by appointment Mon 10th and Weds 12th Dec, 6.00pm-9.30pm, at the Genesian Theatre, 420 Kent St, Sydney For a new production of Shakespeare's Richard III to open Genesians 2013/14 season Auditions will be done in pairs at 15 minute intervals Callbacks if required will be be held from 10am on Sat 15th Dec 8 Men and 7 Women required, all age groups (20s - 70s) All actors will play multiple roles This will be a bold, exciting new production and will require an exceptional ensemble cast Auditions by appointment - to book please contact: richard@genesiantheatre.com.au For the audition please prepare a short classical monologue (less than 3min) - Shakespeare preferred, but not from Richard III Primary Characters - Male Age Guide Richard III 30-50 Lord Hastings 30-60 Robert Brakenbury 20-50 Duke of Clarence 30-60 Duke of Buckingham 30-50 William Catesby 20-40 King Edward IV 30-70 Earl of Richmond 20-50 Primary Characters - Female Age Guide Lady Anne 20-35 Queen Elizabeth 40-60 Queen Margaret 50-80 Duchess of York 40-70 Mistress Shore 25-55 Prince Edward 16-25 Young York 16-25 The age guide is intended only as a guide to playing age. Note that two women will play the young princes with the aid of child mannequins. If you have skills or interests in puppetry, please make this known at the time of the audition.
