This is a touching tale of friendship, a critical look at authority and control. It has adult themes and strong language.
Auditions will be held in groups. Each auditionee to prepare a 1-3 minute monologue. There will then be cold readings in the group. If you can do an American accent that would be great but they will not necessarily be used in the show.
The cast of characters – ages are stage age and indicative only.
Patients (all male)
McMurphy Shaggy, devilish grin, face battered and scarred Age 35-45
Chief Bromden Huge quiet man. Needs to have very big stage presence. Age 20—50’s
Dale Harding Handsome, effete, late 30’s
Billy Bibbit Late 20’s, looks like a boy
Scanlon Balding 50’s
Cheswick Short, chubby, truculent & cringing
Martini Italian, little
Ruckley Blank faced, empty-eyed, shaven skull, once powerful body
