Rottnest Island Theatre Project

Male actor 38+ wanted for new theatre project on Rottnest Island.   (Actors over 45 strongly encouraged to apply)

Scooplight Theatre and Rottnest Island Authority are working collaboratively to present two new and exciting theatre projects in 2012 to add to the suite of visitor experiences for Rottnest Island.

Rottnest After Dark: A promenade performance taking place around the historic Thomson Bay settlement, with two shows per night offered. With the theme of “The Visitation”, characters from Rottnest’s past will revisit the island to share and in some cases relive the different stories and events from their time on the island with the audience which, together, will illuminate why this unique place means different things to different people.

Open House: During the day, a selection of historic cottages (now used as visitor accommodation) will be open to the public. Visitors will meet the people who built them, who were stationed in them and who lived in them as they appear and reappear or maybe just leave something behind for visitors to discover.

These events are scheduled to take place on the following dates: Friday 29 June – Sunday 1 July; Friday 27 – Sunday 29 July; &  Friday 10 – Sunday 12 Aug.

This will be a co-op production, with the income from ticket sales from After Dark being distributed equitably among cast and crew. All costs associated with travel to Rottnest, accommodation and basic meals will be covered.
