Auditions will be in two parts:
1. Individual Singing Audition - Wednesday February 29th (leap day!) from 7:30pm Bookings essential: please call Judy, President of FAMS on 9451 3324 to secure your time.
You are invited to sing a song of your choice, and may be asked to sing it again with some direction. You may also be tested on your vocal range. We request that you perform either:
A. a song from The Mikado
B. a song from another Gilbert and Sullivan operetta
C. any song which demonstrates your voice
We prefer you sing a song which you know well, and have confidence in performing. Try not to be too nervous, we will make the audition as friendly and painless as possible. We are looking for singers who can cope with the musicality of Sullivan's score and can perform with clarity, emotion and truthfulness, rather than the typical "D'Oyly Carte" delivery.
2. Call-Back Workshop - Saturday March 3rd from 1pm
All auditionees will be asked to attend the workshop on Saturday at 1pm. There is no need to prepare for the call-back. Please wear comfortable clothes, and shoes appropriate for simple movement (no sneakers please).
Chorus members are NOT required to audition, but welcome to do so.
