Virgin Warrior is a rock opera about Joan of Arc. This will be the Australian Premier Auditions will be held between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 22nd October 2011 at Phoenix Theatre, Memorial Hall, Cnr Carrington St and Rockingham Road, Hamilton Hill. Performance Dates 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 9th, 10th March 2012 at Phoenix Theatre in Hamilton Hill. Performance Date 17th March 2012 in the Supreme Court Gardens, as part of the Medieval Fayrre Rehearsals will be Wednesday 7-10pm and Sunday 12 noon - 5pm from beginning of November. There will be a break after 18th December returning 8th January 2012. All rehearsals will be at the theatre or nearby at Joe Cooper Recreation Centre. To arrange an audition please email jane@sherwoodoffice.com to get a time or if you have any questions. Please prepare a song. As this is a rock opera, please select something other than musical theatre genre. Be prepared to sing the song in different styles. If you require accompaniment please bring a CD – there will be no pianist available for the auditions. Characters: Joan Joan is on stage for almost the entire show. Late teens to early 20’s but looking young. Strong stage presence, strong acting and singing. The rest of the cast could be any age. None of the singing is particularly difficult. Joan’s Mother Joan’s Father Baudricort (M) Steward (M) Dauphin (M) La Hire (M) Page (M) Warwick (M) Inquisitor (m) Chorus – selection of peasants, soldiers etc. Range of voices.
