Auditions - Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland Script/Music/Lyrics by Mike Carter Directed by Jane Sherwood Auditions will be held between 10am and 5pm on Sunday 14th August 2011 at Phoenix Theatre, Memorial Hall, Cnr Carrington St and Rockingham Road, Hamilton Hill. Performance Dates 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th November, 1st 2nd, 3rd, 4th December 2011 Rehearsals will be Wednesday 7-10pm and Sundays 12 noon - 5pm from beginning of September. Most cast members will be expected to be at all Sunday rehearsals, although call times may vary. Alice and cast as required will be needed for the Wednesday night rehearsals. All rehearsals will be at the theatre. To arrange an audition please email jane@sherwoodoffice.com to get a time or if you have any questions. Please prepare a chorus and verse from a song. If you require accompaniment please bring a CD – there will be no pianist available for the auditions. You will also be required to do a cold reading from the script. This show can be performed with as few as 8 actors, but there are 24 speaking parts. Characters: Alice Alice is on stage for almost the entire show. Mid-late teens. Strong stage presence, strong acting and singing and confidence to work with the audience. The other characters I am prepared to consider either male or female with no age requirements – I will simply cast those that I think are best suited to the roles: White Rabbit French Mouse Dodo Duck Caterpillar Fish and Frog Footmen/women The Italian Cook (needs stereotypical Italian accent), The Duchess The Cheshire Cat The Mad Hatter The Dormouse Card Gardeners x 3 Queen of Hearts King of Hearts Tweedledum Tweedledee The Gryphon Mock Turtle Chorus for The Pool of Tears Additional soldiers and playing cards Additional jurors
