When two actors set out to tell a fairly straight forward tale, havoc ensues as the characters rebel and everything becomes a little too real.

Roles:
Narrator: (Female 20's-30's) A very physical role requiring a high level of skill and flexibility. Must be able to switch between multiple characters (upwards of twelve) and accents.
Girl: (Female 18-30) Preferably a bit younger/physically shorter than the Narrator. Able to sing and move well. Also quite a physical role with three character changes. Performer must be able to do an english and an american accent.

To audition or make further enquiries contact Esther Longhurst at estherlonghurst@yahoo.com. Please send through a CV with an up to date photo. Auditions will involve a cold reading, with some improvisation. Also Auditionees will be asked to sing, so please prepare a song without no backup.

'Shoemaker's Daughter' will be performed as a part of Blakyak's One Act Season at Midland Arts Centre August 31st, through till the 3rd of September. It will then tour to the Hills Drama Festival, the Southwest One Act Play festival in Bunbury and Dramafest on the following three successive weekends.
Like all one act plays participating in the festival this is a Community Theatre Production. Auditions will not be held at Midland Junction Arts Centre, they will be in a different venue in Bayswater. Contact Director for more info.
