The Mousetrap - Audition - Melville Theatre

On stage for the first time in Perth community theatre: Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap! PERFORMANCE DATES: November 4,5,6,10,11,12,13,17,18,19,24,25,26 (11 evening performances and 2 matinees) THE CHARACTERS Mollie Ralston: The attractive young co-owner of Monkswell Manor Guesthouse (20s-30s) Giles Ralston: Her slightly older husband Christopher Wren: A young and eccentric architect (sort of!) Mrs. Boyle: Retired magistrate (50+) Bossy and imperious Major Metcalf: Retired military type (50+) Miss Casewell: Young, mysterious, worldly and mannish woman. Mr. Paravicini: Forgeign looking man with a wild moustache (think Poirot) Detective Sergeant Trotter: Young copper. Seems normal enough THE PLOT Eight people are snowed-in at a guesthouse – the owners, their four eccentric guests and two outsiders. When a murder happens, it sets the mystery into relentless motion. The truth is bent by silence or lies, and a trail of clues keeps you guessing to the end. The ending to this play remained a secret known only by those who had seen it on the West End until Wikipedia leaked it (I suggest you wait until you read the play or see it). For that reason I will not be giving out copies of the script, but will discuss it if you have questions. THE AUDITION The format of the auditions will be cold readings, but done in two sessions so please contact me for a position in the 11am session or the 2pm session. No need for prepared pieces, but please bring your resume or email it to me beforehand. I will be taking photos on the day so I can refer back to them.
