The Mousetrap By Agatha Christie Directed by Barry Nielsen Season: 1st Sept - 15th Oct 2011 Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm Sunday matinée at 4.30pm Reading: Thursday 26th May at 7pm at the theatre Auditions: Saturday and Sunday 28th and 29th May Rehearsals: July and August Technical Support: Some people have expressed interest in helping in technical roles so let me know if you are still keen. There is plenty of opportunity for people to involve themselves in set building, stage management, bio box and assisting the director. All help will be gratefully accepted. It probably is the most famous play of modern times. Is its legendary status justified? Can we make it great? Hell, yeah! Cast: Please note these ages and comments relate to the script but I am quite happy to cast people differently if needed. In some ways it may work better if some of the younger characters are a little older. Mollie Ralston: The young co-owner of Monkswell Manor Guesthouse Giles Ralston: Her slightly older husband Christopher Wren: A young and eccentric architect (sort of!) Mrs. Boyle: Retired magistrate (50+) Bossy and imperious, of course Major Metcalf: Retired military type (50+) Gotta have one of them Miss Casewell: Young, mysterious and mannish woman. Lives abroad (H'mmmm?) Mr. Paravicini: Think the current TV M. Poirot and you get the picture Detective Sergeant Trotter: Young copper. Seems normal enough Is there a stereotype we have missed? It's a blizzard, the house is isolated, someone dies, people are not who they say they are, a murderer is on the loose. What can it all mean? Full houses every show is what it means and if you want to be part of this event then come to the reading and book an audition.
