Ruby Moon

This celebrated and entertaining play by Matt Cameron begins like a fairy tale when little Ruby Moon sets off to visit her Grandma at the end of Flaming Tree grove. It ends somewhere else entirely, when Ruby is never seen again. Following the arrival of a strange package on their doorstep, her parents find themselves in a strange world. Two actors will bring to life the eccentric characters who live in this slice of David Lynch suburbia. What is real, what is imagined, and what is unknown is always in question in a text skilfully balanced between humour, grief and the surreal. Ruby Moon is a journey into loss, mystery and obsession; unfolding like a fractured fairytale. All parts are played by two actors: one male, one female. Director Andrew Gray is looking for two experienced actors to play the role of Ruby's parents Ray and Sylvie and the various "neighbours" in Flaming Tree Grove. AUDITIONS will be held Thursday evening 23 June 2011 from 7pm - 9pm and on Saturday 25 June 2011 from 2 - 4pm at Pambula Public School Hall, Monaro Street Pambula NSW. Rehearsals July - October in Pambula, with intensive rehearsal week for 5 days in second week of October school holidays. Fri/Sat/Wed night shows and Sunday matinee in early November. Actors will be expected to have learnt all their lines early in rehearsal period.
