The Mouse Trap

Audition date 27/08/2011 Show dates are November 25 to December 17 THE PLOT Eight people are snowed-in at a guest house – the owners, their four eccentric guests and two outsiders. When a murder happens, it sets the mystery into relentless motion. The truth is bent by silence or lies, and a trail of clues keeps you guessing to the end. This notorious murder mystery opened in the West End on 25th November 1952 and has been running ever since. THE CHARACTERS Mollie Ralston Attractive young woman mid 20’s-early 30’s Giles Ralston Arrogant, attractive, similar age to his wife. Christopher Wren Wild looking, neurotic young man, long untidy hair, confiding childish manner. Mrs Boyle Imposing older woman, with a bad temper. Miss Casewell Youngish, slightly masculine woman, self assured. Mr Paravincini Foreign looking and sounding, flamboyant moustache, a bit Hercule Poirot-ish but taller/larger. Major Metcalf Middle aged, with military manner and bearing. Sgt Trotter Cheerful, commonplace man with slightly cockney accent. Please note: Description of characters is not written in stone. I tend to mix & match, and if you are right for the part......... Audition Time is 1.00pm on the27/08/2011 PERFORMANCE DATES: November 25,26, 27*,December 1, 2, 3, 4*, 8,9,10,16,17. The format of the auditions will be Cold Readings. No need for prepared pieces or bookings. I like to see how people take direction from scratch. Bring resumes and diaries. To protect the mystery of the play, scripts will NOT be available for reading prior to. However you are welcome to discuss the characters with me anytime.
