Five Blue Haired Ladies Sitting on a Green Park Bench

Anna, Eva, Rose, Gladys and La La had only two things in common when they met seven months ago: a park bench and a life well-lived. Through fond and sometimes painful memories, keen observations and a good belly laugh now and again, these gals are truly on the cusp of eighty, going on eighteen.

Bound by each other's strengths, wisdom and witticisms, each one unknowingly prepares for the day they leave the bench, perhaps for the last time. As the journey unfolds it's those bonds that ensure, at least for these fearless five, that the grim reaper is not so grim after all.

Characters: All ages shown are stage ages. The actual age of the performer is not relevant.

Anna Cinzano: 85+ female. Has four children, six grandchildren. Husband and four children are deceased, grandchildren have moved away.

Eva Reisch: 80+ female. New York born and raised, married into high society, husband deceased, no children.

Rose O'Connor: 80+ female. A spinster from upstate New York who moved to the city after a brief stint as a WAC in the service.

Gladys Feinberg: 80+ female. Married, separated, husband in a New Jersey rest home, two children, three grandchildren.

La La Carmichael: 85+ female. A cabaret singer who only reached semi-fame in the 20s & 30s, planning a comeback.

Tuffy Buchanan: 20+ male. La La's young sweetheart.
Nunzio Cinzano: 75+ male. Anna's husband.
Marvin Feinberg: 80+ male. Gladys's ex-husband.
Shirley: 50+ female. Rose's partner.
Richard Reisch: 60+ male. Eva’s ex-husband.
