Hebei Silang Performance Agency Pty Ltd (China) In Conjunction with Brave Touch Productions Performing Arts Opportunity KISS ME KATE (1997 Revised) Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter Book by Sam & Bella Spewack Directed & Choreographed by John Michael Burdon Musically Directed by Andy Peterson July 10th - October 10th Australian Cast to Tour China (Beijing, Shanghai, Han Shou, Ghengzhou, Shenzhen) Lewis Liu of Hebei Silang Performance Agency Pty Ltd (a sub-branch of Armstrong Arts, China http://armstrongartsltd.com/index.php) and John Michael Burdon (ABN: 78650128105), the Artistic Director of newly formed independent theatre company based in Sydney, NSW BRAVE TOUCH PRODUCTIONS are joining forces to present a 3 month tour of Cole Porter’s classic musical KISS ME KATE (1997 Revised) from July – October 2011 featuring an all Australian cast. We are looking for freelance and represnted actors, dancers, singers and performers to audition for this production to be held at Sydney Dance Company in April 2011. With a 7 week part-time rehearsal process in premiere Sydney venues, an experienced production crew and all expenses paid trip to China for three months with the chance to perform to the Chinese public; this is one opportunity not to be missed. We are looking for performers of varying experience to come and audition for this production. A fully realized English speaking production of Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate (the first winner of Best Musical at the Tony Awards in 1949), this production will tour Beijing, Shanghai, Ghengzhou, Shenzhen and Hanshou in China. Dance call auditions and vocal auditions will take place on Wednesday & Thursday 27th & 28th April with callback auditions on Fridau 29th April. Rehearsals will be Tuesday & Thursday evenings 6 - 10:30pm and Saturdays 10am - 6pm from May 10th to June 30th. Rehearsals will not be paid. Cast will be paid on a contracted basis throughout the tour. Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of auditioning and hold a valid passport Auditioners outside of Sydney will audition at their own expense. If you are successful in gaining a casting, the companies will assist in your relocation costs to Sydney during the rehearsal period. We are looking for 13 male musical theatre performers and 9 female musical theatre performers to complete the ensemble for this production.
