Alfred Hitchcock's film of John Buchan's classic novel is brought to life on the Genesian stage in this hilarious spoof from Patrick Barlow. With a cast of four presenting several hundred characters, this fast moving farce is sure to prove hugely entertaining.
The play is written for four actors. Hannay is played by one male actor who plays only that role. One female actor plays three roles: Anabella, Pamela, and Margaret. Two other actors, referred to as Clowns, take on the several hundred other roles in the play. These clowns are not traditional circus clowns, but parts suitable for versatile actors of either gender - they are substantial parts and vital to the action.
A reading of the play will be held at the Genesian Theatre, 420 Kent St, on Weds 9th February at 7pm, followed by auditions on the 12th and 13th of February. All are encouraged to attend the reading, which should be a fun night reading this clever script!
Roles Available:
Richard Hannay - About forty. Attractive. Pencil moustache.
Anabella Schmidt / Pamela / Margaret - The most beautiful girl in the world.
