How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is a sixties musical comedy of the Bob Fosse school. Set in New York, in a big company, its a big stylised musical loaded with satire, office politics, gender issues and romance. Its bright, colourful and silly. There will be some dancing, but not all characters nor all chorus will be required to dance all numbers, and we plan to pepper the show with clever moments and fun steps which will be tailored to the abilities of the cast. The Production Team will be: Producer: Keith Muir Co-Directors: Ryan Fogwell & Patty Macintosh MD: David Shergold Technical Director: Konrad Gebels Choreographer: Glenda Percival There are eleven main singing roles,: Finch, Frump, Twimble, Biggley, Womper and Bratt (for gentlemen) and Rosemary, Hedy, Miss Jones, Smitty and Krumholtz (for the fairer ladies) Also, the Secretaries and Executives have the chance at several small speaking roles, including the Voice of the Book. It may be possible to cast non-singers for some of these smaller roles, if we have the large singing chorus we are wanting. We have lots of early ideas for the settings and style of the show - using gigantic office equipment and stationery as sets, simple bright coloured costumes, lots of cool animation a la HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy, and a film similar to the one we produced for Pirates in the Overture, except in reverse!
