Brainstorm Productions’ Auditions for 2011 Season:Auditions by appointment only To apply for an audition actors MUST BE at least 19 years old and MUST HAVE a current driver’s licence and good driving record Auditions are held as follows: Brisbane:Monday 22nd with call-backs on Tuesday 23rd November 2010 Melbourne:Friday 26th and Saturday 27th November 2010 for initial auditions with call-backs on Saturday 27th or Sunday 28th November 2010 (TBC). Sydney:Wednesday 1st, Thursday 2nd December 2010 for initial auditions with Friday 3rd December 2010 for call-backs We are looking for 17 actors for our 2011 season (10 male and 7 female). Send CV’s including address and date of birth and 2 references with your current photograph to:auditions@brainstormproductions.com.au - Minimum age 19 years but with a playing range 16-25yrs. - Must have a CURRENT DRIVERS LICENCE and a good driving record. - Keen to do some touring (about 1/3 to 1/2 of each tour is in actors base city) - Some roles require singing and physical theatre and some are straight dramatic pieces. Closing Date Sydney applicants:Wednesday 17th November 2010 at 5.00pm Brainstorm Productions is one of the largest touring theatre companies in Australia. We have been established for 27 years and perform more than 2000 shows to up to 400,000 students every year. We offer a supportive, professional environment with wages paid on a weekly basis regardless of show cancellations etc. Modern, air-conditioned company cars are provided. The shows are challenging and address serious social issues. Initial auditions: will be one at a time – actors will be asked to perform a short monologue provided in advance by Brainstorm and to sing 'Happy Birthday" unaccompanied. These auditions will be videoed for later reference. Actors are to arrive a few minutes early to complete application forms prior to their audition. They will be asked information about their driving record, availability for the coming season, some medical history, as well as their employment history/experience/training. Before an offer of employment is made actors will be asked to provide an RTA, QLD Roads or VIC Roads print-out of their driving record. The Education Department will also need permission to conduct a mandatory criminal record check for any history of violence or sexual based offences. Rate of Pay: Weekly wages are paid at Equity rates – (currently $865.86 per week), plus Living Away from Home Allowance (LAHA) $830.48 when tour is away from actor’s base city. Holiday Pay, Sick Pay, employer’s contribution to Superannuation and Workers Compensation Insurance are also provided.
