Audition: Saturday 27th November (if you can’t make this day, please contact Kirilee to rearrange) Venue: Melville Theatre - Roy Edinger Centre, Cnr Stock Rd & Canning Highway Palmyra Season: March 3rd – 12th, 2011 Cast required: 4 men and 2 women Zastrozzi tells the story of an amoral and charismatic criminal mastermind and master swordfighter who cuts a swath of destruction across Europe in the 19th century. Zastrozzi relentlessly pursues revenge against Verezzi, a naïve and disturbed artist who has been one step ahead of Zastrozzi for the past three years thanks to his tutor, Victor. But Zastrozzi, with his not too bright sidekick Bernardo, and Matilda (the greatest seductress of Europe and lover of Zastrozzi), have finally caught up. Now, it is time for all to meet, and what is left to do is decide if you on the side of goodness and purity, or evil… or like Julia, being simply thrown into world you know nothing about and hope to land on your feet! Zastrozzi – a master criminal, German, mid 30s to mid 40s Bernardo – Zastrozzi’s friend and right hand man, Italian, late 20s to early 40s Verezzi – Zastrozzi’s enemy and artist/dreamer, Italian, 25 Victor – Verezzi’s tutor, English, French or Italian, late 30s to early 50s Matilda – A raven-haired gypsy & seductress (Zastrozzi’s lover), Eastern European, early to late 30s. Julia – A fair-haired aristocrat, English or French, 17 All ages are stage ages. Accents would be appreciated, but not imperative. Please note: There will be some semi-nudity for the character Verezzi. Everybody involved with this product will also have some sort of stage fight. When booking your audition please say which role/s you would like to go for. Please prepare a short monologue that reflect the character, or request a short monologue from the script that will be emailed to you. Be prepared for the monologue to be worked on. Note: Along with cast, we are also looking for crew members. We require a stage manager, set builders, as well as lighting and sound operator/s.
