Alcott Stirling Theatre, Morris Place, Innaloo OPEN READING Saturday 21 August at 5pm OPEN AUDITION Saturday 28 August at 2pm Season runs 3 December - 18 December 2010 Characters : (please note : stage ages only ) Amy March 15yrs – spoilt, artistic, sees herself as a “proper young lady” Beth March 16yrs – quiet, shy and kind, loves music and plays the piano (see note) Jo March 18 yrs – tomboy, independent, tempestuous, clever and self confident, has a passion for writing Meg March 20yrs – well-mannered, intelligent, employed as a governess, tries to keep the peace between Jo and Amy Hannah 60+ yrs – family maid, been with the family since the girls were born, part of the family Mrs March (Marmee) 45+ yrs – Kind, intelligent and modest- but a strong woman, raising her girls to be “little women” Aunt March 65+ yrs – Mr March’s wealthy and grouchy widowed Aunt, somewhat temperamental and prone to being judgemental Laurie 18+ yrs – A rich, fun loving young man who is a neighbour to the March family, About to enter Harvard. John Brooke 29+ yrs – Laurie’s tutor, intelligent and well mannered Mr Laurence 65+ yrs – Laurie’s grandfather, A kindly, wealthy gentleman. Mr March 50+ yrs – a scholar and a minister. Serves as a chaplain in the Union Army.
