"Proof"

Auditions for "Proof" will be held at the Weld theatre in Busselton at 7:00pm on Wednesday 9th June. This is a Pulitzer prize winning drama written in 2001, set on the back porch of a house in Chicago, USA, exploring genius and mental illness, love and trust. A beautifully written script that contains some theatrical surprises, intensity, moments of sadness and humour. The play contains adult themes, some coarse language and drug references. All roles are equally demanding, and require American accents. The key to a good American accent is the more subtle the better, so don't be put off by this requirement. Specific ages are less important than the perception of the relative ages of the cast, which are: Robert - An academic - male mathematician - late 50s Catherine - Robert's youngest daughter - depressed - a some-time student - mid 20s Claire - Robert's oldest daughter - efficient and in-control Currency Analyst - late 20s Hal - A male former mathematics student - a bit of a geek - mid to late 20s Performances are planned for, but not restricted to: Wednesday 11 August Thursday 12 August Friday 13 August Saturday 14 August Sunday 15 August (Matinee) Wednesday 18 August Friday 20 August Saturday 21 August
