Hush Little Celia Don’t Say a Word One Act Play Co-Directed by Brendan Ellis and Joel Horwood Auditions Saturday 26 June 2010 2.00pm – 4.30pm Held at Stirling Theatre Morris Place Innaloo WA Hush Little Celia Don't Say a Word is a beautiful one act play about a teenage girl with selective mutism and the boy who tries to get to know her. Characters: Todd - Quirky, energetic narrator of the play who doesn't take life too seriously. Uses humour to avoid awkward situations. Very strong actor who is good at memorizing lines required. Stage age 14-18 years. Celia - Shy, introverted girl who rarely speaks and keeps to herself. Emotional, challenging role. Stage age 14-18 years. And an ensemble of six to ten other versatile actors aged 13 – 30 years to play various characters including two psychologists (1 male, 1 female), Celia's parents, teachers and students. May be required to switch characters on stage and have good improvisationational and physical skills. Auditionees will be required to perform selected scenes from the script as well as some physical improvisation activities. No need to book an audition slot, just show up on time and be enthusiastic. Please be prepared to stay for the entire audition. The season consists of seven performances between 26 August and 7 September 2010 at Stirling Theatre, Innaloo.
