To Absent Friends One Act Play Written and Directed by Bree Vreedenburgh Reading Saturday 29 May 2010 3pm-4pm Auditions Saturday 5 June 2010 2.30pm – 4.30pm All held at Stirling Theatre Morris Place Innaloo WA To Absent Friends is an original short play written and directed by Bree Vreendenburgh that is about a group of friends from a circus who get together to mourn the passing of a mate. All characters are stage ages: Tim - young clown, often depressed Dobbin - old clown, drunk, lecherous, but resigned to where he's at Bobbin (Bob) - middle-aged clown, kind of goofy, juvenile, the "straight man" Cecilia (Cec) - a young beautiful snake charmer, bit of a bitch Rosa - a middle-aged fortune teller that no-one believes in. Mr Canneloni - Italian, potential Mafia connections, the circus owner This play has never been performed before, so actors will potentially be required to change their performance right up until the night - to make it spectacular. This show will be performed as a Stirling Players’ submission in the Mandurah Dramafest on the last Saturday of July, and at the ITA Dramafest in the last week of September.
