CHESS

"Chess" tells the story of a romantic triangle between an American and a Russian, two top players in the world chess championship, and a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other; all in the context of the Cold War struggle between the United States and the Soviet Union. FLORENCE VASSY: (Mezzo/Belt) - Gregor's young daughter, Freddie's second. ANATOLY SERGIEVSKY: (Baritone) Late 30's Russion chess champion, married to Svetlana IVAN MOLOKOV: (Bass) 25+ Anatoly's second WALTER DE COURCEY: (Bass/Baritone) 25+ Freddie's agent, crass and commercial. Secretly works for the C.I.A ARBITER: (Rock-style High Baritone) 19+ Judge of chess championship GREGOR VASSY: (Strong Baritone) 40+ Florence's father SVETLANA SERGIEVSKY: (Mezzo/Belt) 30+ Anatoly's wife CHORUS: 10 men and 10 women. All chorus members will be required to take on many parts including solo and small group musical numbers. Whilst not essential, it is recommended that you audition with a music piece from the show.
