BUDDY, THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY To be presented MAY 2010 Open Auditions 17 November 2009 (Extended Audition Date) Due to low numbers in the first round, we are extending auditions for all roles in our exciting May 2010 production of Buddy. This rock and roll musical is chock full of challengingly fun singing and acting roles. Performers auditioning to play Buddy and the Crickets must be able to play instruments, however almost all other parts need simply good singing and strong acting ability to convey this heartbreaking story. From Doo-Wop girls to Jingle singers, radio DJs and performers at Harlem's famous Apollo Theatre, there are a large number of singing and acting parts for strong movers that will keep the entire cast busy and rocking along. Buddy features some of the best known songs from the birth of rock and roll and delivers them through a touchingly tragic tale - think the music styles of Shout! combined with a depth of story like Jersey Boys.
