The Return

Auditions for Melville Theatre Company's first season for 2010 will be held at the theatre on 21st November 2009. Jeff Hansen directed Melville's first season of 2009 - Doctor in The House, and has chosen something somewhat darker for his next project. The Return, by Reg Cribb, is a locally written drama, which was filmed as The Last Train To Freo. Two ex-cons board the final train to Freo on a hot, summer night, at Midland. The guards are on strike. The train is deserted. At Bayswater, a young female uni student boards the train. There are five roles available. STEVE, ex-con, early-mid 40's TREV, ex-con, early 20's LISA, university student, middle class, very attractive, mid 20's MAUREEN, suburban housewife, late 40's WRITER, male, middle class, early 30's Ages are stage ages, and are flexible. Auditionees are asked to prepare a 2-4 minute monologue to demonstrate their dramatic range. Production dates: Feb 12-27.
