Werribee Theatre Company wishes to announce their first production for 2006, the Jane Austen classicÂ….
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
To be staged at the companiesÂ’ current home, The Wyndham Cultural Centre. The production will take place May 2006.
Pride and Prejudice will be the eighth production staged in the Tattersalls Theatre in 5 years, since the company staged the first production in the centre, the sell-out production of “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Since the opening of the Tattersals Theatre the company has produced 8 shows
with a combined budget of over $150,000, and a cast and production staff of over 300 local residents, the company has a strong commitment to supporting the local arts community.
For over 35 years, the company has supported local artists, looking to gain experience either on stage or behind the scenes.
Rehearsals will take place in the Green Room of The Cultural Centre, which the company has named after it, after its donation of $10,000 towards the building of the centre.
The theatre company is now seeking people who are interested in working either behind the scenes, or interested in auditioning for the production.
The company will be holding an information afternoon, November 13th at 2:00pm at the Old Shire Offices, Watton St, Werribee
